Terms of use.

Fine Print is a website at fine-print.ai. There is no app store listing and no account. Using the site means you agree to this page. It is not a contract review, and it is not legal advice.

No accounts

Fine Print does not offer sign-up, log-in, passwords, or magic links. We do not create a user for you. There is nothing to “log into” on another phone, and there is no Fine Print account to close.

This browser is the identity

We set a signed cookie named fp_device on this browser (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, up to about 400 days). That cookie is how we recognize a returning visit. The free daily personal reading, when metering is on, and any purchased readings, hang off that cookie.

• Clearing cookies, using a private window, switching browsers, or switching devices looks like a new customer.
• A forged cookie will not impersonate another browser; a missing cookie simply starts a new one.
• We may also count activity by network address as a backstop, so wiping the cookie does not mint unlimited free readings.

Pass codes, shown once

If you buy a reading pack, we show a pass code once (FP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) on the thank-you page. That code is the only way to move those readings onto another browser. We store only a hash of it. We cannot look it up, email it, or show it again — including if you lose it. If this browser still has the cookie, the readings already work here and you do not need the code.

Email is not a login

Stripe Checkout may ask for an email so it can send a receipt. That email belongs to the payment, not to a Fine Print account. We will not use a receipt email to restore readings, recover a pass code, or identify your browser. Support cannot reconstruct a lost pass code from an email address.

Your document

When the reader is live, document text is sent to OpenAI so Astra can draft the briefing. In demo mode it is processed on this server without calling Astra. Do not paste secrets you cannot afford to share. Briefings, excerpts, and quotations are kept in server memory, not in an account. Anyone with the share link can open that briefing. Links last up to seven days and can disappear sooner if the server restarts.

Readings, samples, and limits

Built-in samples are fictional and, when metering is on, they do not spend a personal reading. A personal reading that fails returns its credit. We also cap how many readings an address and the site as a whole can run, so the model is not an open tab. Hitting a cap is not a refund and is not a purchase.

Paid packs, when offered, are a one-time number of readings with an expiry. They do not renew. A reading pack is not a subscription and not a law-firm retainer.

Not legal advice

A briefing is an aid to reading. A matching quotation does not mean the interpretation is correct. An empty unknowns list is not an all-clear. Read the original. Speak with a qualified professional when you need advice.
